An interesting article. The section on ‘A safe working environment’ was particularly close to my heart as spoken English is not the main language for most cleaners I have come across. The policies and training documentation are nearly always being written in English, how do employers expect it to be understood fully. Enhance can defiantly help your company if you also feel strongly that safety should be taught equally to all employees.
2014 and employers still allow this to happen?
I stumbled across this article on the HSE website and was amazed that companies that use high risk techniques to do there work still seem to have no control over their staff. READ MORE

Why PPE is so important for employee safety
We all know that if we do the washing up at home that our hands become dry and can crack becoming painful. But spare thought for cleaners who come in contact with chemicals that are far stronger than those used at home. HSE provides guidance for managing risks for cleaners but that is only the start. Our Pictorial RAMS (Risk and Method Statements) could provide your employees with comprehensive training and documentation for avoiding skin problems. See our post on our Pictorial documentation for more information.
Pictures speak a thousand words.
Are wordy multi page Risk Assessments and Method Statements getting your message across to staff members?
This is an easy to answer question. The answer is NO. While they are compliant with H&S law they may be failing your staff at the first hurdle.
Our pictorial method statements or combined RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) clearly demonstrate to any member of staff how your company wishes them to carry out the specific task.
When is an IMS (Integrated Management System) better than separate standards?
Many pre qualifications require companies like you to be ISO9001 accredited. Some here in the UK require UKAS registered certifications and some go steps further requiring ISO14001 and OHSAS18001.
Enhance believe that your systems should work together and be easy to maintain. Having separate management systems will cost you more in time to administer, in time for internal audits and most importantly in charges by external auditors.
We understand that sometimes cost is not the driving force, so with that in mind we would make sure that any system the we create can be modified at a later stage to integrate further standards.
